**4/7: Slushpool Party
Come join us as we celebrate our annual Slush Pool Party at the base of the Octagon Lodge.  Registration in the Bunyan Room from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., event will begin at 12 noon  Free for the first 75 participants10 years old and over with a signed waiver, if you are under 18 you will need a parent's siganture.  Must have a ticket or seasons pass to participate. Cannot guarentee everyone a shot at the slushpool as it depends on the condition of the pool itself.

**4/8 Easter Sunrise Service, Egg Hunt, & Pancake Breakfast!
Join us for the Annual Sunrise Service
5:30 a.m. - 6:00 a.m, Gondola will be loading passengers.We expect a large turnout this year, so please be here early and please note that the last ride up the Gondola will take place at 6:00 a.m. Access to the Gondola will be on a first-come, first-served basis and depending on turnout, we cannot guarantee that everyone will get to the summit in time for the service.
6:15 a.m.  Sunrise Service begins
6:45a.m.  Guests can either ski down or take the Gondola back to the base area. There will be refreshments at the Summit Cafe at this time as well. DRESS WARM as the Service is outside. 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. The Octagon Lodge will be serving a special Pancake Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
9:00 a.m.  Easter Egg Hunt on Lower Bear Claw.   Trail will be closed until 9am.
***Please note:  There is no longer an egg hunt for small children.  This has been replaced with the Pancake Breakfast

Also, just wanted to let you all know that we have published our extended rates and you can now access them through March of 2013.

We are open with the most terrain in NH! Today is going to be an awesome day up on the hill. The forecast is calling for mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 40s! The snow is looking great all over our 64 acres and 4.5 miles of intermediate and advanced skiing & riding on 11 trails. The snowmakers have been working hard to resurface and expand our open terrain. We are once again open top to bottom! The Gondola, North Peak Express Quad & East Basin Double will be running today from 9AM-4PM. The Top Secret Park is open with 2 features. Loon is finally open for skiing.  They opened yesterday at noon. This is a sure sign that winter is on it's way.  Fifty degree, sunny weather is predicted for this weekend and Loon is offering early season lift ticket rates of: $49 for adults (19-64), $39 for teens (13-18), $29 for juniors (6-12) and seniors (65+), and free for children under five and seniors 80+.  Sooo   ...COME ON DOWN!

Snowmaking temperatures are expected to return tonight and more terrain is expected to open this week. For Thanksgiving, Loon anticipates offering top-to-bottom terrain with at least 10 trails, over 60 acres and more than 4 miles of skiing and riding. Loon’s addition of 600 highly-efficient tower snow guns in the past two years, including an additional 170 snow guns added for this year, allows the resort to cover maximum terrain in a short period of time and expand open terrain quickly. Earlier this week, 288 snow guns were running at one time, covering 10 trails.

The caves and caverns of Lost River Gorge will provide the backdrop later this week for a New York-based production company filming on location in Kinsman Notch. A crew of about 20 people from Amalgamated Picture Company will be at Lost River for most of the day on Friday (Oct. 15),  shooting scenes for the comedic drama, Epilogue, about the break-up of an action hero and his leading lady at the end of their adventure. The crew will be filming in several spots throughout the gorge, but there likely will be opportunities to watch from a distance. The sequence to be filmed is the beginning of the short film, written by New Hampshire native Dylan Allen, the owner of Amalgamated Picture Company. He worked closely with the New Hampshire Film and Television Office in Concord to come up with the perfect backdrop for the movie. Lost River, at the top of Kinsman Notch, is dramatic in its own right. It cascades on a subterranean course, under and over a steep walled glacial gorge. It flows into the Pemigewasset River, about 7 miles away in North Woodstock. In addition, it has about three-quarters of a mile of boardwalk winding through it. The film crew does not need any extras for the on-location shoot, taking place a week before Lost River closes for the season on Oct.23. For more information, visit www.FindLostRiver. com.
